I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed Finding Nino. I bought it this afternoon and you can see I’ve just finished reading it! It was such a beautiful and emotional experience and the ending made me cry, it was just so intense and honest.

The book was brilliant and there were so many levels. I picked it up and couldn’t put it down. I read it straight through in two days. Congratulations on such a wonderful book.

My son is studying abroad in Australia and he emailed me to buy and read this book . My mother and father are from Sicily. I have not been there since 1979, and we live in New York. I just wanted to let you know you have touched my son who is American and is only 20yrs old.

I read the book and liked it. In a discreet way it tells of of his love relation with is wife: un romamzo d'amore!
He does not exaggerate like some writers who see mafia in all things Italian. He tells as he sees. He is a true Englishman: sober in his manners and true to the ethics of English gentlemen!

I have just finished reading your book "Finding Nino". My family came from the north of Italy so their background is totally different to your Nino's but I absolutely loved your book and could very much identify with and understand the "italianisms" in it. Looking forward to reading more of your books.

Love your book, we go to Italy every year, and I brought a house there 15 years ago. I love the life & the Island but I still come back to Australia.

I just finished reading your book and it gave me such a range of emotions that I don't know where to start. My wife Sandy is Australian and she is currently reading the book along with my 12 year old daughter Toni. They are both fighting over who is getting it to read. My Family including me were all Pescatore in the Italian community in Fremantle, which has a large Sicilian content, so a lot of your musings with Nino really touched home. Once again thank you very much for your book.

I purchased your book this afternoon and just finished reading it.... As a descendant Eoliana, I think the book was superb and really described the nuances of the liparesi. I've just let all my relatives know about your book and I've posted it on the Aeolian Genealogy list so hopefully you'll get heaps of orders. Best of luck.

What a wonderful surprise it was to discover your book 'Finding Nino' in a bookshop in Beaumaris (Melbourne). I had to buy it immediately and it has been truly fascinating reading about your experiences living in Lipari. I have learnt so much about the island and the people from reading your book. I will be sure to tell all my extended family about your wonderful book so they too can gain the valuable insight into life in Lipari that you have given me.
